Xavier Livermon

Xavier Livermon is an associate professor of Critical Race and Ethnic Studies at UC Santa Cruz. He is the author of Kwaito Bodies: Remastering Space & Subjectivity in Post-apartheid South Africa, from which his essay is adapted, and has published widely in journals including GLQ, Feminist Studies and Black Music Research Journal.
