Immigrant Economics

Despite continued controversy in the US over immigration, a recent study by the Brookings Institute concluded that the US economy grows faster and does better overall in times where there is more immigration. According to one of the estimates done during the study, published in 2018, “the total annual contribution of foreign-born workers is roughly $2 trillion.” Furthermore, the study concluded that there is no evidence that immigration increases the crime rate of the country, despite consistent rhetoric to the contrary.
